Light Up Main - Christmas Tree Lighting
The Mount Forest BIA in partnership with the Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce to 'Light Up Main' with two Christmas Tree lightings to kick off the holiday season. The BIA tree was located beside the Mount Forest Museum and Archives, and the Chamber of Commerce lit up the tree at Youngs Home Hardware on the North end of town.

At the Museum and Archives tree lighting, we were accompanied by the Holstein Belles for their beautiful carols, and we served hot chocolate as we counted down our tree lighting! 2023 was the first year we have implemented a tree lighting in our downtown core, and we are hopeful to continue this event in future years.

There were many individuals and companies that helped with the organization and research of this project. We thank everyone who contributed to making this project a success!

To Bells Creek Farm for donating the tree, the Board of Works for helping us bring it all together, the Mount Forest PUC, Shawn, Jack, and Greg from the Mount Forest Fire Department for assisting us with the lights, Broadline for providing us with the hydraulic lift, Andy who is the owner of Foodland for donating the hot chocolate and cups, the Holstein Belles for their musical talents, and Dwight Benson and Councillor Sherry Burke of the BIA for spearheading this project... just to name a few of our gracious contributors!
